Classes Offered

Choirfire Singers

Singers must be 8 years old and up. A 30 week session focuses on developing basic singing skills in a fun environment. This includes learning proper vocal and performance technique while mastering a variety of Christian music. Partnering with our branch ministry Torchgrab Africa, students participate in a meaningful benefit concert for vulnerable kids in Africa. The annual session culminates with a glorious concert of worship in the Spring. This is a non-audition class and a great opportunity for students to develop their singing skills in an encouraging setting. Students are expected to practice at home with provided audio and music.

Choirfire Ensemble

Students in middle and high school can audition to be a part of this more advanced group. A 30 week session continues developing more advanced singing skills. Students will also hone performance technique while mastering a variety of Christian music. Partnering with our branch ministry Torchgrab Africa, students participate in a meaningful benefit concert for vulnerable kids in Africa. Choirfire Ensemble also has the opportunity to perform in other local concerts at locations such as nursing homes, conferences, churches, ministry events, and schools. Our world tours are largely composed of Ensemble singers. Students are expected to practice at home with the audio and music provided. Many of our Ensemble graduates have gone onto major in music and lead worship in various capacities and places.

Beginning Guitar

Students aged 8 and up will learn foundational guitar skills, including proper hand positions, basic chords, notes, and strumming techniques. Classes will start with an introduction to the guitar and cover topics like chord variety, strumming patterns, and playing in rhythm with a metronome and songs. Each session includes group playing, allowing students to practice songs together. Detailed assignments are given after each lesson, and progress reports will be provided.

Students are required to bring their own guitar and a folder on the first day of class. Guitar classes must have a minimum of 5 students.

Choirfire Flute

Students ages 8 and up will learn basic flute skills, including proper hand positions, introductory notes, and simple melodies. Students must bring their own flute and purchase an instruction book (details provided upon registration). Regular practice at home with the workbook and music provided is expected.

Benefits of Choirfire

  • Become a BETTER more CONFIDENT singer.

In a fun and encouraging setting, Choirfire classes will help each student develop stronger vocal skills. Singing in a group allows students to learn new techniques and vocal styles. Choirfire vocal coaches work with students to improve pitch, tone, and range, and help develop each voice to its full potential.

Students will learn to keep pace with other singers, which improves overall timing and rhythm. It is a wonderful experience to blend voices to create a harmonious sound. Each student will develop individual vocal abilities which will benefit all areas of musical life.

Singing in front of others builds confidence and personal growth that directly translates to greater self-assurance in other areas of life as well. This team effort brings a special satisfaction and positive joy and purposefulness.

  • Choir classes also improve mental, emotional and spiritual health. Studies have revealed that academic scores have increased directly as a result of musical involvement. Singing has also been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and elevate mood. Group singing in particular has been linked to increased feelings of joy and well-being.

Choirfire is a distinctly Christian ministry and our emphasis is learning and performing music that glorifies God and spreads the good news. Prayer and biblical encouragement is a part of every class. Students grow as disciples of Christ, grow stronger in their faith, and learn the joy of knowing Christ and sharing Him with others.

Choirfire’s unique goal is to train “the next generation of Musicianaries.” Short-term international mission trip opportunities are peak experiences in ministry offered by Choirfire.

  • Learn to sing and play guitar while making GOOD FRIENDS!

Group music lessons can foster a true sense of purpose and community. Students learn teamwork, cooperation, and communication. Great friendships result!

This sense of community extends beyond the rehearsal space into daily life. Our Christian students become a part of a like-minded group that brings encouragement and support. Whether performing in a local concert or just practicing together, students feel connected to a group of people who share a passion for Christ and music.

“Choirfire wasn't just about the music - it forged friendships that went deeper. These weren't just fun times, but a supportive network that encouraged me to grow in my faith.”
